The DMLSS Program, co-sponsored by the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) and the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics), is a partnership involving the wholesale medical logistics, medical information management, medical information technology, and user communities. The DMLSS mission is to improve responsiveness of medical logistics support. The DMLSS Program accomplishes this by implementing business process innovations that increase the effectiveness of medical logistics support and reduce cost.
We look to Telophase for innovative ideas. They have played an integral part of many successful implementations and always look forward to working with them on many of our complex projects. — Tim Wheeler, DOD DMLSS Project Lead
Telophase professionals assisted in the planning, installation and maintenance of a high profile enterprise UNIX server and managed and implemented UNIX based security measures to bring all deployed systems into C2 compliance. Telophase specializes in UNIX Systems administration and systems monitoring. We also provide expert administration of many the applications that are typically hosted on UNIX systems. Additionally, we developed a rapid UNIX-based user interface that manages all applications and system administration functions in over 150 worldwide medical treatment facilities (MTF). We were also responsible bundling of OS patches for HPUX and Linux on this particular project.
Telophase provided the initial development of DMLSS. This included the full suite of medical logistics capability to include stock fund level inventory management, quality assurance, medical technology management, and management of readiness materiel. Telophase collected, and documented operational and functional requirements for a number of application components of DMLSS. We mapped core business objectives of the program to the target technology and application architecture of the program. We developed methodologies for Configuration Management and software deployment, provided Quality Assurance guidelines; and oversaw implementation in the deployment phase. Telophase was part of team that was the recipient of the National Performance Review "Hammer Award".
Telophase provided third tier UNIX (HPUX and Linux) support to the DMLSS program. We have also provided support to users and system administration team outside the normal hours of operation. Telophase conducted on-site training and assistance directly to the end-users, track all support calls, and provide the ability to obtain real-time status reports for CONUS and OCOUNS sites.
We defined specific operational and functional objectives under the technology framework that was established, such as meeting security compliance goals consistent with the DOD’s enterprise-wide mandate. We also mitigated many information assurance issues for HPUX and Linux. Telophase, in conjunction with EDS, provided technical guidelines for UNIX, Firewalls, NT, Web, Win95, OLTP, Oracle, Sybase, Java, Office applications, Programming and TCP/IP Networks.
